WHOLESALE

OUR STORY

From concept to global product reference

Every startup begins with a question.

For RUNNER, it was simple : why do we keep making standard putters when no golfer is standard?

From that question came a mission: to create a putter that adapts to the player — not the other way around.

What started in a garage quickly turned into an innovation journey, blending engineering, feel, and countless hours of testing on the greens.

Discover our story and the milestones that gave birth to RUNNER.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

2021

The Spark (During Lockdown)

Unable to find a putter that truly matched his stroke, Simon turned frustration into action. During lockdown he began sketching, prototyping, and testing the Runner Original V1 with one simple idea: the club should adapt to the player, not the other way around. Early builds focused on the big levers—length, lie, and loft—then quickly expanded to weight distribution and balance. He experimented with interchangeable weights, different face feels, and grip profiles to tune roll and start line.

Friends and playing partners gave raw feedback that shaped the next prototypes. Each tweak was validated on the green, not just at the workbench. By year’s end, the DNA of Runner was set: measure, adjust, validate—and always chase consistency and confidence.

2022

Orlando Recognition, Entrepreneurial Leap

The year opened with a bang: an Innovation award at the PGA Show, a public nod that Simon’s “player-first” concept had legs. That momentum crystallized into a brand—Runner—and the official start of an entrepreneurial journey. He refined the fitting method into a repeatable process: capture the stroke, set the parameters, and confirm gains in real conditions. Small production runs followed, designed for both rapid iteration and dependable quality.

The visual identity took shape while packaging, after-sales, and documentation were built from scratch. Most importantly, Runner kept its promise: a putter that could be tuned to the individual in minutes, with changes you can feel and measure.

2023

Launch, First Customers, First Retail Partners

Runner moved from prototype to marketplace: online sales began and the first customers rolled in. An AI-assisted fitting guide was introduced to recommend specs and weighting based on a player’s tendencies and goals. Returning to the PGA Show, Runner showcased the end-to-end experience—quick diagnostics, modular adjustments, and a clear before/after on start line and pace control. Word of mouth brought the first retail and fitting partners, expanding access beyond direct sales. Product feedback tightened tolerances and informed updates to head shapes, inserts, and grips. Shipping, customer care, and content all leveled up to support a growing community.

2024

Eastward Bound, A Japanese Showcase

Runner stepped onto the global stage with a show appearance in Japan, a market known for precision and equipment craft. The team gathered insights from meticulous golfers and fitters, refining communication and fitting flow for international audiences. Demonstrations emphasized quick, evidence-based adjustments players could feel immediately. New relationships opened doors for future collaborations and limited runs.

The brand’s playbook—measure, adjust, validate—proved universal, anchoring Runner’s identity as it crossed borders.

2025

Team Growth, Brand Momentum, “Most Wanted” Spotlight

With demand rising, Runner expanded the team and professionalized operations while staying nimble on product R&D. The breakthrough moment: an appearance in MyGolfSpy’s “Most Wanted” rankings, recognition from the most influential independent testing in golf. That spotlight reinforced the early PGA Show Innovation kudos and injected fresh energy into the brand.

Distribution broadened, the fitter network grew, and more players discovered the confidence that comes from a putter built to their stroke. Runner closed the loop between idea and impact: a data-driven, adjustable system that helps golfers putt how they’re built to putt—on purpose.
